About us
Katrin Ackfeld
Interior design has always been part of my story
– it runs in my family for generations.
Since the 19th century, my great-grandfather, grandfather, and father worked as master carpenters, crafting bespoke interiors for noble families in the Münsterland region of Germany.
You could say my passion for spaces and materials is in my DNA.
As a child, I learned to draw from my father – who became also an architect and interior designer –
and through his projects across Europe, I developed a keen eye and deep appreciation for
quality, detail, and exceptional design.
My own journey began with internships at design studios and renowned furniture makers,
where I cultivated a love for craftsmanship.
In Hamburg, I trained as a furniture consultant and worked at Clic Inneneinrichtung
– a pioneering company that introduced me to international design and large-scale projects.
Those formative years shaped my philosophy:
thoughtful, innovative interiors, always with a focus on individuality.
In 1996, I followed my heart (and the sun!) to Mallorca.
Here, I was fortunate to contribute to landmark projects like the 5-star Castillo Hotel Son Vida
and the Son Gual Golf Club, collaborating with top studios and drawing inspiration
from the island’s unique materials, colours, and the very special mediterranean light.
In 2009, I opened my own studio. Since then, my team and I have completed
bespoke projects across Mallorca, Germany, England, and France.
Now, with nearly 40 years in the profession, my greatest inspiration remains the same:
the interplay of materials and colours.
Stone, wood, metal, fabric – each tells its own story, each carries its own emotional resonance.
For me, interior design is not just about creating beautiful spaces
– it’s about shaping experiences, emotions, and identities.
